Izzy:Â This scarf is 100% yak khullu which is mostly handspun.
yak khullu is a soft, warm fibre that keeps it shape well and by being handspun it is extra soft as there is less twist to the yarn, additionally it has an uneven thickness giving it a special character of its own
The majority yarn that is dyed black is handspun by the herders in amongst their daily work of caring for the yak.
The grey yarn is handspun here in the uk and is woven into a ‘ goose eye ‘ design
